As the year 2021 is almost over, the new year is just around the corner. You might be spending the last day of this year binge-watching Netflix romantic comedies or Christmas movies with your family as you always do. However, it’s said that how you begin your January 1 sets the tone for the rest of the year. If you want the upcoming year will be different than before, open up to a blank page and create a list of New Year’s resolutions that are simple and attainable keeping in mind that change doesn’t have to come all at once. To help you get started, I brought a list of the best New Year’s resolution ideas on TikTok. You’ll be able to start 2022 with a healthier body and mind following their advice.
Send an email without stressing for 45 minutes over the subject line.
Don’t drink so much coffee that you wonder if you’re having a panic attack.
Stop using “haha” as punctuation on text.
Try to make sure there are no more than 2cups in your bedroom at a time.
Actually eat all the yogurt you buy.
Have more secrets and tell them to just a few people.
Take out one exclamation point per email.
Stop going after people who are “your type”.
Eat more tater tots.
Turn off your social media time limits. You’re just ignoring them.

Be meaner(to people that deserve it).
Keep your phone at eye level for your neck.
Try to forgive a little more than you usually would.
Write 3 things you’re grateful for either at the beginning of every day or at the end of the day.
Visit at least 4 National or State Parks.
Try one new healthy snack every month.
Redecorate your room.
Take yourself on a date every month.
Listen to an educational Podcast.
Learn every dance that goes viral on TikTok in 2022.
Clean your nasty mirror.
Force yourself to turn in camera in Zoom lectures/meetings.
Send letters of gratitude to friends and family.
Check out a fiction book from the library once a month.
Try to upkeep your eyebrows.
Take care of a plant or grow vegetables in a garden.
Get a Paint By Numbers for your destressing activity.
Use baby products for your skin.
Go on more nature walks.
Compliment yourself in the mirror every morning.
Volunteer your age in hours.
Pick up a new board game for mental agility.
Listen to your body and honor your hunger & cravings.
Find ways to move your body that bring you joy.
Try to always treat yourself with empathy and compassion, even when you’re feeling self-destructive.
Prioritize your rest.
Unfollow everyone on social media who makes you feel nad about yourself.
Look at yourself in the mirror and then try to say something nice to yourself every day.
Allow yourself to feel all of your feelings, no matter how difficult it is.
Set boundaries and prioritize your mental & physical wellbeing as much as possible.
Try to do something you enjoy every day.
Let go of the idea of being perfect and let yourself be human instead.
Quality over quantity: Rather than have a laundry list of resolutions, aim for 1, 2, 3.
Set realistic resolutions.
Set a start date and then stick to it.
Remember that baby steps lead to big changes over time.

Stop making resolutions for stuff that you hate doing.
If you struggle with self love, stop looking outwards at people who don’t even love you.
Your resolutions shouldn’t be things that depress you. They should be things that get you excited to wake up and jump out of bed.
