The Ranch

The Ranch is a comedy Netflix Original series. With Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson s이tarring as brothers, it debuted in 2016 on Netflix and ran for four seasons. Each season consists of 20 episodes all of which are named after American country songs. The interesting fact about this series is that it was filmed on a sound stage in California’s actual live audience. Although not the most popular in America, the series still managed to remain a beloved favorite among its fans. The show had gone through some bad stumbles including 2017, when Masterson, one of the stars, was accused of sexual assault and got fired out of character.

Schitt’s Creek

The next series is Schitt’s Creek. This show is a Canadian sitcom created by father and son Eugene and Dan Levy. It first debuted on CBC in 2015 and kept on thriving until 2020. The show features an enormously wealthy family who loses all their money and falls hard, ending up in a motel in the rural area. It is a heartwarming show with a twist of brilliance. Apparently, the world loved this non-American show since it wrote a new history, winning and sweeping all the comedy categories in Emmy’s. There is no reason for you to live on with your life without knowing what happened in that Creek.

One Day At A Time

Some people describe the series as a “Pure Delight”. That is how well made this show is. The original One Day at a Time was aired in 1975. The One Day at a Time that I’m talking about is the remade version. Many of you have just flicked it to the side, thinking it another one of those poorly remade bumpy tv shows. Well, I hate to point out that you are wrong. In 2017, Netflix took the classic and created something new, something you would fall in love with. It features a single Latina mother raising her children with the help of her Cuban mom. This show is something worth watching because not only it makes you laugh, it also deals with social issues such as mental illness,  sexism, homophobia, and racism.

The Good Place

I bet all of us have once had questions about the afterlife. We all know where Mexicans go, Disney made it clear with “Coco”. Then where do the others go? The director and the writer of “The Office”, Michael Schur has come to answer with “The Good Place”. This show features a group of people who end up in the afterlife, get assigned with a score based on their morality in their life, and “lives” in a place where they are designated. It is not scary or horrifying, it pictures delightful happenings with a group of people from all different backgrounds. If you want a fun philosophy lesson and find out where you would go after your last breath passes, go to Netflix and watch “The Good Place”.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

What would you do if you were suddenly in a busy, unfamiliar land with nothing but your hungry self? Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is another Netflix original series, circling around the life of a 29-year-old Kimmy Schmidt. This show can be confidently said to be one of the highlights of TV comedy. Kimmy, although 29, lived more than half her life in a bunker and had to restart her life in a whole new strange land. Seeing her overcome difficulties with her positivity and optimism is sure a delightful way to start your own day. This comedy show also discusses female empowerment and cult. Light it may seem, it succeeded in capturing both the fun and social issues.

Community

We all miss the days when we went to college once we realize there is only a hell of a mature, responsible life ahead of us. College was fun, crazy, and well, crazy is the word. The memories seem to get blurry as time passes, and it is really hard to get a whoosh of those feelings on our own, but thanks to Community, we get to become college students whenever we wish to(as long as we are in the house with no one else). This sitcom debuted on NBC in 2009 and ran its way until 2015. The whole show is a joy, but one thing that is noteworthy is its heavy use of meta-humor and pop culture references. It adds the fun.

Friends

I bet none of you are new to the legendary “Friends”. I know that I don’t have to mention this sitcom as the Earth would know this show, but it wouldn’t be a top list without “Friends” in it. Just in case you haven’t watched it yet, it is about a group of friends living in New York, with a lot of love and care for each other. This show is loved until now for so many reasons, and I can’t list them all here, but you will see once you’ve started it.

The relationship that the show portrays is so nice and lovable that it is almost unreal. It pictures the life that everyone would desire to have. Also, despite the fact it does have some features that can be controversial if it was aired these days, it was still ahead of time. It breaks the norms of the roles of men and women, has a whole episode on gay marriage, and others more.

The pain you have to go through before settling with another show that you’ve already watched is now the past. I have narrowed the hundreds of thousands of lists for you, and I can promise you – they are all gems. It is some lonely days we have currently. When people are depressed, they go for more depressing stuff. But today will be different. Today, you read this. And so today, you will have some light and laughs.
